Bandaiya is founded in Tokyo, selling celluloid and metal toys like passenger cars and rubber swimming rings.
1961

The company changes it’s name to Bandai
1967

Bandai launches Thunderbirds series of electrically powered toys.
1964

Astroboy arrives in the U.S.
1974

Chokogin Mazinger is a Major Hit
1978

Bandai America Inc. establishes a U.S. base.
1983

Kinnikuman capsule toys (aka "M.U.S.C.L.E. Man") launched and became extremely popular.
1980

A New milestone for model kits
1987

Saint Seya Popularity Sky Rockets
1986

Nekonyabo toys become a major hit.
1993

Products related to Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon gain popularity, while Bandai's Power Rangers products quickly become a top-selling hit in the U.S.
1996

A New Pocket Pet Arrives
1997

Bandai launched the Digimon brand of virtual pets.
1999

A New milestone for model kits
2005

Bandai and Namco merger is announced.
2008

Ben 10 character toys become a hit in markets worldwide.
2014

Bandai launches Big Hero 6 licensed toys to world-wide acclaim.
2018

Bandai Spirits Co., Ltd. is formed by merging Bandai's collectibles and model kits business with Banpresto's prize and lottery business.
2019

Bandai Namco Holdings acquires Bluefin Distribution and creates a new subsidiary, Bandai Namco Collectibles LLC.
